I decided to export all my posts from Wordpress to Substack, because I read somewhere that I should be able to cross-post to multiple social media sites automatically with it...though I’m not finding where I saw that.
Regardless, the Wordpress archive is now on Substack, but I’ve found that some of the pictures didn’t transfer properly if they were part of a gallery. Not sure if there’s a way for me to search Substack posts for content, so if you happen to find an old post that says [gallery], please comment to let me know and I’ll fix it!
(And if you are reading this from the website, you may notice I’m not including my usual ending remarks—I decided to put those in the email footer and I’m pretty sure it’s only available in emails. So, make sure to subscribe!)
Moving on, a few things:
Later this year, I’m going to start a Kickstarter for publishing the first volume of the novel! My edits are dwindling down, and I’ve had others read it, too. It’s getting very close to being publish-ready. My plan from the start has been to use Ingramspark for the print version, and do the eBook version(s) myself on itch.io. (And maybe an audio book for a stretch goal?) And that’s still the plan, especially since Ingramspark removed the upload fee! Which I’ll take into account for the Kickstarter goal. (I’m planning for it to be low and obtainable—still calculating some stuff, but it’s basically going to be for the ISBNs, copyright registration, Kickstarter fees, and then a little padding for rewards and shipping.)
Because I’ve been chiseling away at the story to get it finalized, that means I’m getting closer to implementing dialogue into the game. I’ve said in the past that I’ve moved from Game Maker to RPG Maker because it reduces the amount of code I’ll have to do myself, and will help me focus on the story and art.
Something else—
I’ve started uploading my designs to Threadless as a Redbubble/TeePublic alternative, with the controversial fees. My Redbubble shop hasn’t been classified yet, but I just wanted to open up options. Plus I discovered Threadless has a bunch of cool stuff that I don’t think Redbubble has! (Like all-over print shirts, and skateboards!)
One last thing…
I’ve also been working on VRoid models of the characters so I can utilize them for future videos, illustrations in the novel, game CGs, and other stuff. In fact, I’ve finished Takako’s model! Below is a little collage I did with her in her Mascot outfit. (I’ve also finished her school uniform!)
